Satellite event refers to any activity which is independently organised, offered, and/or accredited by an organisation other than the Public Health Association of Australia; and held before, during or after the 16th National Immunisation Conference 2018.

Collaboration on Social Science and Immunisation (COSSI) Workshop

Immunisation ‘gains, gaps and goals’: Understanding attitudes, barriers and experiences

Date: Monday 4 June 2018

Time: 8:00am - 3:00pm

Who should attend? Anyone working in the area of immunisation social science research and/or using such research in their work: academics, public health program managers, immunisation providers, those working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, policy makers, research-focused postgraduate students.

What does the workshop cover? The workshop will facilitate multiple opportunities for participation in important information sharing about current immunisation research, practice and policy, attitudes and behaviours. Research updates will be given, and interactive, solution-focused knowledge exchange sessions will ensure engagement between front-line public health workers and researchers/academics.  Participants will be invited to share/present practical issues during the table-top sessions.

COSSI was established in 2016 to better inform Australian immunisation policy and practice with high quality evidence from the social sciences by supporting capacity in research and evaluation, collaborations and translations.

The Immunisation Coalition's 3rd Adult Immunisation Forum

Date: Friday 8 June 2018

Building on the success of our 2017 forum, the 3rd Adult Immunisation Forum aims to:

  • Enhance understanding of the burden of vaccine preventable diseases and the challenges for improving vaccination in adults

  • Present the most recent developments in vaccination for the elderly

  • Consider options for increased vaccine coverage

 

The forum will be of particular interest to health professionals, immunisation specialists, policy makers and those working on the front line of public health.
